Giving Back Is Part of How We Grow
Todd Moore built Spilled Dirt Nursery on one principle: the best soil grows the healthiest roots which in turn produce the healthiest plants — and healthy communities work the same way. The same care he puts into every organic soil blend and every young plant start, he brings to the neighborhoods and ecosystems that sustain us all. Growing something meaningful takes time, intention, and consistent nourishment — and that philosophy doesn't stop at the potting bench.
Our Commitment
Starting in 2026, Spilled Dirt Nursery will donate 5% of gross receipts to a charitable cause. We will rotate to a different organization or charity every year, choosing nonprofits that focus on one or both of the following:
- Youth empowerment — programs that invest in the potential of young people
- Environmental impact — initiatives with measurable, real-world results for our planet
We will post our chosen charity annually, along with a link to learn more and donate directly. We welcome your suggestions — if you know of an organization that fits these criteria, we'd love to hear about it.
Why We Do It
We are a young, small business — and that's exactly why we start now. Giving 5% of gross receipts consistently, even when the dollar amount is modest, builds the habit into the culture. As SDN grows, so does our capacity to give. We believe a business that grows without giving back has missed the point entirely.
When we grow together, we grow together.
