Botanical Name: Philodendron erubescensNative Region/Environment: Columbia Sun/Light: Part sun, especially direct morning light, or bright, indirect light. Will tolerate low light conditions Temperature: Indoor Houseplant requires a minimum temperature of 60F. Outdoors in Zones 11-12. Water: Best to thoroughly moisten all the soil when watering and let if dry to the touch as opposed to watering a little on a set schedule where portions of the soil will remain dry and that root zone suffers. Soil: Organically rich porous soil composition. Growth Pattern: Robust climbing perennial, evergreen vine. Heart shaped leaves in shades of olives greens when mature of 16" in length. The petioles and juvenile leaves are pinky-reds to reddish-greens, hence the name 'blushing'. Mature Size: Able to grow thick, sturdy vines 20' to 30'. Grows very robust aerial roots to support its climbing habit. Attributes: The flowers, or spathes, are up to 6", very fragrant and are deep cranberry red. The young leaves are hyper glossy and turn matte with maturity. Pot: 3.5" or 4" |
